Privacy policy

What personal information do you collect and why?

We collect the following personal information:

Name (including Display Name)

E-mail address

IP Address (for general statistics on usage and abuse prevention)

The Gaming Geeks, LLC. does not collect Credit Card information directly as purchases are guided through PayPal. The Gaming Geeks uses return e-mail addresses to answer the e-mail we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties. Finally, The Gaming Geeks never uses or shares the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above.

Who can see my password?

No-one. We never store your password un-encrypted, so no-one can read it. Password information is stored via our host provider, 1and1.com through their database system, which we can guarantee is far more protected than anything we could provide. It is your sole responsibility to keep your email, password and other sensitive information confidential. If you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security, you need to notify The Gaming Geeks immediately so that we can stop any fraudulent purchases to your account.

Who can see my credit card number?

No-one at The Gaming Geeks. We use the very trustworthy and secure PayPal merchant payment service. Read about their security measures on the PayPal privacy section of their website (in short, their business is to protect your credit card info using industry-standard practices).

Protecting Children’s Privacy

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 18, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 18.

Who can access my information?

By default, all information you provide to The Gaming Geeks is private and not available for third parties outside the company or non-merchants. Merchants selling through The Gaming Geeks will only have access to information necessary to complete orders (ie. Name, shipping address, e-mail address if needed).

What guidelines does the staff at The Gaming Geeks follow when accessing my information?

Only senior members of the team are allowed access to your information, and never to outside contractors.

We like keeping your information private. We want you to enjoy coming back to our site, and feel safe doing so; so in that instance you could say we hate to share outside the group.

We might give access to US authorities if requested in writing. We’ll try not to, but we are small potatoes and not a huge conglomerate. If this unlikely scenario would occur, the account owner would be informed as much as possible.

How is my information protected from another customer’s information?

All of our customers’ data resides in the same database which is secured through our e-commerce host 1and1.com. All credit card and payment transactions are handled via PayPal.com's secured system. So, the information of who purchased what is handled by one secure system; while the actual payment strategy is handled by another secure system. We will do our best to remain secure, but since we are artists and not programmers, we cannot say with 100% assurance a sophisticated hacker cannot get in; however the relevant account information is handled by a company (PayPal) with an excellent reputation for protecting paying customers.
